About Us

Our Mission & Motto

Mission: Originally fashioned after the “Promise Keepers” rallies, the “Men’s Rally in the Valley” exists to bring men together in Christian unity for prayer, fellowship, worship, and preaching.  “Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me. (John 14:6).
Motto: He is risen, no excuses.

Walter “Bing” Newton was a teacher and Salem High School Track Coach for 24 years.  Bing’s track teams won the Columbiana County Track Meet 15 times, at one point holding the title for 10 straight years.  During his tenure, he led the Quakers to an overall career record of 135-19.  This included 10 undefeated seasons.  After retiring from coaching, God led Bing to begin a men’s prayer breakfast – “Men of Faith.”  What began with less than 10 men in the basement of one church, God has grown to roughly 130 men from nearly 50 different churches.  And from the “Men of Faith” breakfast, in 2009 God provided Bing the vision and ability to establish the “Men’s Rally in the Valley.”

Prior Rally History

On May 4, 2013 the fourth consecutive Men’s Rally gathered men in multitudes from various walks of life, challenging them with the “Iron Sharpens Iron” theme taken from the 27th chapter of Proverbs.  Drawing over 12,000 men in the first four years, God is using the Rally alongside the other area ministries to move powerfully in the Mahoning Valley. As Jesus is lifted up, He is drawing men unto Himself.  God is bringing revival to the Valley.  In 2011, the “Men’s Rally” went international with a brother rally being held in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  And in 2012 added brother rallies in Vietnam, Madagascar, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Burundi.  God is using the “Men’s Rally in the Valley” to bring men together from many nations for Christ’s sake.

The Future

The 2014 “Men’s Rally in the Valley” will include preaching/teaching from locally, as well as nationally known speakers.  There will be many worship and praise bands along with a 300 man choir, all making a joyful noise, giving praise to our Lord and Savior.  This year’s line-up has already been set and can be seen in the accompanying promotional material. In 2013 God added a “Woman’s Rally in the Valley,” inspired and modeled after the “Men’s Rally in the Valley.”  The “Women of His Vision” will host their 2nd consecutive rally on April 26, 2014, at Victory Christian Center, located just outside of Youngstown in Coitsville, Ohio. We hope you will prayerfully consider partnering with the Rally as a sponsor for this year’s event.  Please take time to review the Rally information contained in this packet and don’t hesitate to contact the Rally organizers with any questions or to make a commitment of sponsorship.

Thank you and may God richly bless you with His peace and joy.
